David Foster Architects has been designing award-winning projects since 1996. Our work includes both residential and commercial building types.
Some recent projects have included:
- An innovative mixed-use building with artists' live/work spaces, retail, and a penthouse residence
- A beachfront cabin on a private island in the San Juan's
- An affordable 4-unit cottage development under Seattle's Design Demonstration Program for Innovative Housing Design
- A new home in the Alki neighborhood of Seattle just steps from the water
- A four-unit townhouse stepping down a hillside on Capital Hill
- A bunkhouse sleeping six in a serene wooded location
- A new 2100 SF environmentally sensitive home, employing sustainable building practices, set amidst an orchard and gardens
We are deeply committed to design excellence. We strive to produce buildings that possess propriety, timelessness, and beauty. This requires a disciplined approach that takes into account not just the necessities of the program and budget, but also the project's physical context, its cultural setting, and the art of building.
We believe that the best design transcends style and function to express the magic of making a place in the world.
